Soleil arrived in a mustard

sweater and gold earrings. The warm, muted colours washed out her naturally bright complexion and dulled her vibrant features. She is a cool neutral, 'Bright Winter' with tonal dimensions of bright, cool, and dark. A little overwhelmed by her new 'bright' palette, she opted for deeper cassis and 'brightened' the look with Bright Winter gloss and shiny silver earrings. Again, no other added make-up.

Lani was previously analysed as a 'warm' or 'vibrant' Autumn, but overly warm and vibrant colours are jarring and disharmonious with her neutral warm undertone. Lani and her daughter, Kiera, are both Dark Autumns, where depth of colour is key. Whereas True Autumn is warm butterscotch, Dark Autumn is deep molasses. Autumns revel in layering and texture, and leaning into Winter, Dark Autumns especially benefit from the added dimensions of layering and contrast. 

Amberlie was confused by the colour apps that told her she was either a summer or an autumn. She's neither. Amberlie is a warm neutral Bright Spring with tonal directions of bright, warm, and light. Her colours need to be clear; the energy clean and crisp to harmonise with her overall brightness. It goes hand in hand with her bright personality!

Steve is a Dark (or deep) Autumn. Sometimes mistaken for a Winter, black is too severe, and white and grey pale the Autumn's warm undertones. Instead, anchor the wardrobe with neutrals in warm navy, dark olive, or espresso; choose dress shirts in warm taupe or ivory; accents in teals, rusts, and rich warm burgundies; shoes and belts in dark brown leather; rustic gold/brass hardware, tortoise shell frames, natural fabrics and lots of texture. 

Bridesmaids, Tasha (Bright Winter) and Sarah (Light Summer) were assigned light shades of blue and yellow, respectively. To look their best, Tasha wears Bright Winter's 'ice' blue (not pastel) with sparkly jewellery (a must for 'brights'). Sarah wears a cooler-toned yellow with light gold jewellery. Along with their 'right colours' and accessories, the different necklines and hairstyles reflect their different style personalities.

Yena is a True Spring. Her tonal dimensions are warm, clear, and light. Clear yellow is the core colour of Spring and with this much yellow in the palette, reds become coral, blues become turqoise, and green like fresh spring grass. This season is energetic and bursting with freshness. A key feature of True Spring is their radiant warmth - think buttercup yellow!
